Postpartum Doula Services
Metro Atlanta, Lawrenceville, and Athens
What does a postpartum doula do anyway?
Sometimes a postpartum doula is confused with a baby nurse, night nurse or night nanny.
I am not a nurse, nanny, babysitter, or housekeeper. As a Mom of 2 I have personal and professional experience to share when I am assisting a postpartum family. I also bring my expertise as a Certified Postpartum Doula, a previously certified Lactation Counselor, and a Baby Signs Instructor to assist with common topics that come up during postpartum doula shifts:
- breastfeeding and other infant feeding options
- overcoming common breastfeeding challenges
- postpartum mood and anxiety disorders (baby blues, PPD, etc.)
- cosleeping/bedsharing
- sleep training
- attachment/peaceful parenting
- babywearing safety
- baby soothing techniques
- sibling integration
- baby sign language
- socializing
- returning to work
- birth story processing
I am happy to help with housekeeping tasks, provide opportunities for self care, and plan for nourishing you and your family.
My ultimate goal is to help you find tools and confidence as you settle into your new ‘normal’ with the addition to your family.
Additional Postpartum Services
I also offer additional products to help make the first weeks of parenting more enjoyable. These include options such as: Placenta Encapsulation and Smoothies, and Bengkung Belly Binding.
Postpartum doula shifts are scheduled in 4 hour blocks, which you can purchase in sets of 12, at my current rate of $35 per hour.
