We have recently begun toying with the idea of homeschooling our children. We are looking into some of the options available to us, and I had decided to compile all of my findings to provide a free information class to other families that are considering homeschooling. Well, lookie here! There’s a Homeschool 101 Workshop happening in Atlanta. You can thank the Atlanta Homeschool Cooperative for this opportunity to learn.
Here’s the article from the Atlanta’s examiner.com:
This Tuesday, May 24th, will be the“Homeschooling 101 Workshop” hosted by the Atlanta Homeschool Cooperative (AHC). According to Karen Gimnig, founder, this workshop is designed to share various ideas about homeschooling and foster interactions with homeschooling families.Whether interested in the homeschooling concept, new to homeschooling or a veteran, Atlanta Homeschool Cooperative thinks that this will be a beneficial event for families.
Experienced homeschoolers will be addressing the following topics: traditional homeschooling, classical homeschooling, Charlotte Mason method, Montessori method and unschooling. In addition, currently homeschooling families will have curricula available that have been tried and these families will be sharing their personal experiences with the curricula. This concept can be exceptionally beneficial when considering a curriculum since it can be reviewed before making the purchase.
Do you homeschool? What do like best/least? Do you have resources for me in the Gwinnett County area? I am so excited to learn more!
